This is a well written book that documents the account of King David's relationship with Michal, daughter of King Saul. The script stays fairly close to the scripteral accounts of these individuals. Our book club enjoyed reading and discussing this book, but it definitely did not have as much depth as the Red Tent. It was more difficult to come up with discussion questions even though there is a Readers' Guide in the back of the book. If your group enjoys reading historically based novels about characters in the Bible, they will enjoy reading Queenmaker. If they enjoy discussing book characters that have a great deal of depth to their personalities, they may find this book lacking.
