I was expecting a truly inspirational read. What I got was an advertisement from the Church. The only part of this book I found remotely believeable was his wallowing in self-pity after his accident. I am thankful that Mr. Piper recovered from what was surely a terrible ordeal, but save the preaching for the pulpit.
If a family can survive an ordeal of that magnitude, and become stronger and have more faith, a lot of us give up too soon on trivial matters in comparison.
I liked this book told from a minister's perspective. I thought it was very believable and there was a purpose. The only drawback was the reitteration of similar things over and over. I know this was his experience, but I wanted a little more from him, however, I'm sure many of these issues he had to deal with over and over, so I can see why he stated them. Inspiration to anyone who had doubts.
