"The House on Tradd Street - Formulaic & predictable" by kellyperx (see profile) 09/30/10

This book could have been so much more than it was. The author started many interesting story threads but didn't fully develop any of them. The characters are mostly one-note. I liked the mystery theme, but it ended up seeming contrived. Seems like the author just needed to get another book turned in to the publisher & didn't think much about this one.

If you are looking for an enjoyable reading experience, lighthearted with a touch of mystery this is a great choice.

"It's good, but the follow up in the series is even better. So read it." by riegerd (see profile) 09/28/11

I accidentally read the first book in this Karen White series first and loved it. Then I realized there was a book before it and went back to read this one. I definitely liked the second one better. It was stronger than this one. But this one does set it up a little. I would suggest reading it so you could read the second one. Love, love, love Karen White.

This was a fast read. It explored family relationships and history with a touch of the supernatural to keep it all interesting. I looked forward to reading the 3 books in this series and am eagerly anticipating the release of the 4th novel this summer to see what happens next.

"A Southern Charm" by FriendshipSisters (see profile) 12/21/12

Karen White's, "The House on Tradd Street" is a wonderful read; full of mystery, a Charleston home remodel, some Civil war history, and all with three ghosts in the mix. I truly enjoyed the banter between Jack and Melanie and their sexual tension made for more than a few good laughs. This is simply a great, fun read. Anyone who loves stories from the South will truly enjoy this first book in Ms. White's trilogy.

The first 200 pages were quite addictive. It was a good read overall. Towards the end there were a couple of questionable things I thought. I will definitely read this author again. It did leave me wanting more of the continuing story.

"Gave me goosebumps!" by jouelle3 (see profile) 10/21/17

This was our club's Halloween selection. Most members gave it a thumbs up. For me, it was funny in spots and a little bit spooky. Our discussion revolved around ghosts/haunted houses, restoration of old homes & furniture, and the relationship between Melanie, the main female character, and not one, but two, male admirers.
