"Exemplary journalism, providing insights into human intolerance" by Telynor (see profile) 04/22/07

This book opened a new understanding of the mechanics of social relationships. By objective journalism, Isabel Fonseca was able to illustrate the common threads of intolerance and also of conformity. I think her work may have begun with asking a question, "How does oppression develop?"

  "A disappointment" by Suzhou93 (see profile) 10/19/07

We were very excited with what we thought might be a look inside a culture that is very mysterious and potentially exciting, but instead we found that the author highlighted a number of cultural characteristics that did not reflect well on this group. As each new family was introduced, I would have expected to gain greater insight, but little new was added with each passing page. There must be more to the gypsies.
