This was such a great book. Our whole club enjoyed everything about this book. This was one of the best discussions ever. The characters were so wonderful and the story was page turning. Everyones only complaint was this was a two box of kleenex book. The heartwarming story of the Bommarito family draws you in the takes you on a wonderful journey of laughter, tears and learning to love under terrible circumstances. This is a great bookclub choice. I hope you take the time, you won't be disappointed when you get to know "Henry's Sisters".

This book illustrates the beautiful dynamics of sisters and family. It is both funny, shocking and sad. It is a must read!

dysfunctional yet charming

Most of us really liked his books. We enjoyed reading about the quirks of the sisters and there was many topics to be discussed for book club. Some felt their lives were over the top.

This book was so much fun to read. Henry was so lovable and you could just picture him in your head loving his sisters and his mom with his simple ways. His sisters were such a combination of feist and devotion. The grandmother was over the top. I laughed out loud at Amelia.......especially when her "gas tank was full". I sobbed, I laughed, I was angry, and I was amazed and surprised. This book had it all! I would highly, highly recommend this book!!!

Insightful on parents, family & life experiences and the effects they have on our lives, the strength of family and how hardship brings families together... devastating while being the healing influence. We are a product of our life experiences. With any luck we survive the challenges dealt us by life. War, homelessness, handicaps as well as sisterly (& brotherly love). I never fail to be amazed with the human strength or the power of love and faith, Cathy Lamb has put her voice to this, showing us we can survive some of life's ugliest moments with the support of family, friends and faith.
I want a bakery like the Bommarito sister's!

Although at times unrealistic, this was a dramatic story about characters that the reader will care for.

Get ready for the roller coaster that is titled "Henry's Sisters" by Cathy Lamb. I laughed and I cried, sometimes while reading the same page. The Bommarito family is very dysfunctional and despite their tragedies and disagreements they come together to support each other. I loved the characters and thought Ms. Lamb did an exceptional job revealing their personalities and emotions. "Henry's Sisters" reveals heartfelt compassion, sympathy, and acceptance but most of all love. PS. Jesus Loves You!

Our book club loved this book! We all felt it started out rather dark and depressing, but we became more and more caught up in the characters. We loved Henry and the great message in this book. It was capable of bringing out our emotions on both ends of the spectrum!

Our group enjoyed reading the book. It had a hard time getting going but then it was a fast-read. The characters were well-developed and showed such goodness as the book went on. We would recommend this book to other groups.

I have never laughed and cried so much while reading a book. It was a page turner - loved it!

I loved this book! Couldn't put it down. Laughed while crying. Absolutley a hoot, but also had very well developed "characters"! What a read. I hightly recommend this book. You are not alone in your family casting! You may even feel a little bit better about your own. And give your mom a break. :) Or yourself for that matter.

This was a great book club book! I would be crying, and next thing I knew I would be laughing out loud! The author did a great job balancing these emotions and keeping the book positive. I also loved the development of Henry's 3 sisters -- I think everyone can see a little bit of themselves in each of Henry's sisters, and if they are lucky, they will see a little bit of themselves in Henry too!

This books was very inspirational, a story of heartache, pain and true forgiveness. It is a story of true love!

excellent story...but make sure you have tissues for the end!
