"A young man accepts a job in an exclusive community while trying to deal with finding his own path in life." by maggiex2 (see profile) 01/15/08

Over all the book was good, however more background information would have been helpful. You feel like the author dropped you in the middle of this moment in time. Further development of key characters, I felt, would have brought this book more to life.

"I enjoyed the book but it wasn't riviting. The characters were interesting" by lghedge (see profile) 03/28/08

"easy, fast read about a discouraged young man who spends a summer with the wealthy taking care of an elderly woman" by lefrey (see profile) 03/28/08

This book had mixed reactions in our group. Most of us wished that Ellen's character was more developed, that Nathan was somewhat pathetic, and the "wealthy" people in the book were what most people have read about and some have experienced, snobbery.

This book was an easy read and difficult to put down as we wanted to know what would develop. We had hoped that this would've been a true coming of age book, but that didn't happen.

We do look forward to Brian Groh's next book as we think there's possibility for growth.
