Beautifully written by Ms. Sanna the story moves quickly and smoothly taking you back in time to the Wisconsin farmlands. A couple of twists and turns left me scrambling to rethink my anticipated ending. This is a book definitely worth reading.

historical fiction with an interesting story. It showed how war affects everyone, even those not in the war zone. I had never heard that the USA kept German prisoners of war in barracks in many cities and they worked in factories, orchards, cannaries, etc. during the war.

places reader back in the life of WWII when German prisoners were held in concentration camps in among other US locations Door County in WI to help with the cherry harvest . Interesting, dangerous and even romantic relationship develop.
