It was interesting to contrast my impressions of places that I been with the descriptions of the author in 1865. Parts of the book were very funny...but not enough parts.

I had difficulty getting into the book. If I had been living at the time written, I think I would have scoured the pages for all the details about the traveling experiences and descriptions provided.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book although it was very long! Twain was equally entertaining and outrageous. It was fascinating to read the tongue-in-cheek account of his travel experience of nearly150 years ago .
