Our book club really liked this book. Interesting characters and story. There were some parts that felt unrealistic but it didn\\\'t affect the overall enjoyment of the book. Good discussion too.
The story line is fascinating but the characters were never fully developed. I loved "Me Before You" but this did not have the same depth.
Great discussion for book club members
I enjoy jiostorical fiction. This story was very engaging and I learned about the occupation of France during
World War 1.. U fekt that I could imagine what truly happened to Sophie. Wonderful book.
Was shocked that it ended when it did. Some wanted a clearer picture. This was a quick read...don\\\'t read too early or you will be confused come club time! If you liked The Woman in Gold, you will like this!
I enjoyed the parallel story lines and how they linked together the past and the future.
Another AMAZING tale from Jojo Moyes! Unlike ME BEFORE YOU & AFTER YOU, this novel flips between occupied France during WWII & current day London. As usual, Moyes presents finely drawn characters that readers can embrace & cheer along in the journey through the tightly woven tale of love, loss & sacrifice. I highly recommend this novel.
This was one of the few books that everyone in our book club finished reading. We usually have a couple who are not interested enough to finish reading our book.
This was a popular choice because of its parallel storylines linked by the portrait.
We've read a couple of Jojo Moyes books and she writes books that generate discussion. Less controversial than "Me Before You", this one also delves into current ethical issues and gives you a twist at the end that no one saw coming.
