After a slow start, I did enjoy this book. The story became interesting enough that I couldn't put it down until I finished the book - always a big "plus" in recommending a book. It wasn't heart-stomping and there were no huge surprises, but it was an enjoyable read.
Four women have been friends since college and have drifted away from each other in the twenty odd years since then. One of them, who has immigrated to America, has a brain tumor and her last wish is to see her friends again.
This is the story of these women, their lives, their changes and losses, and the current state of their lives and some of the difficulties faced by them in the larger culture.
I loved the book. The story was interesting, the characters had potential for more development, and the subject matter was informative and exposed me to new pieces of history that I had been previously unaware of.
