I thought this was a compelling book. The author makes you care about the characters. The book is hard to put down until the end. Writing is excellent.

Truly a spectacular epic of a story. The ending is well satisfing as well as every single page. I fell in love with this novel and it will stay with me for a long time. Can't wait for MacDonald next novel, but it will hard to trump this one.
