It is light reading and informative about Monarch butterflies and traditions. I also enjoyed the experiences and the characters but I feel the book is short of the right emotions. It was just happy path all the way but based on some of the settings and situations, you would expect some challenges for the main character but that never happens. When it does, it is dealt with it very lightly. So I'd say the book lacked the emotional depth it was actually set up to do.
I loved this book. There was a lot of symbolism mixed with a great, adventurous storyline.
This was a refreshing summer read about journey of four women that follows the monarch butterfly's metamorphosis.Great summer/fall read.
Our members all agreed that the best part of the book was the info on Monarch butterflies at the beginning of each chapter. We found the book too much like a soap opera....
each individual will experience different emotions when reading...could be too fanciful or predictable for some but realistic for others...
