An inspiring story of survival and bonds that form under extreme duress. I loved the Wolf character, the stories of his childhood neglect and the fact that he was a flawed hero, making mistakes and showing weakness. The personal stories of the 3 female characters are shown to the reader gradually, as Wolf gets to know them. Realistic writing, many times you are transported right on to the mountain edge, feeling the beauty of nature, as well as the harsh realities of having no food, no water and enduring freezing temps. I enjoyed this book and will recommend it to others, I am also planning to read this author's other novels.
Wolf has had a difficult life and has decided on his eighteenth birthday to end his life. He is an experienced hiker and heads for the Mountain. While there he comes across three women who have become lost and beg him to help them find their way back. What ensues is a series of mishaps leaving them stranded for several days with no food or water and they must rely solely on each other for survival.
