There is nothing "wrong" with this book, it just goes so slowly no where.....

I loved this book, and even more so at the very end when I realized it was a true story, a memoir. It pulls you in and teaches you about a life most of us know nothing about. It will continue to impact my life long after the words are forgotten!

This book has good material for discussion. The characters are shaped (and trapped) by their families and enviroment. They struggle to change their destiny and that of their children.
