I always enjoy Ann Tyler's writing and this book was one of her best.

Well written, interesting story. We rated it 7 out of 10.

Easy read. Entertaining. You become invested in the characters. Interesting to learn about cultures that are different than a traditional American upbringing. Makes you appreciate and understand diversity better than before.

I've enjoyed Anne Tyler in the past but found this book to be too neat and predictable. Her characters were too stereotyped to make it very interesting. They need more depth and individuality.
