Fun, especially if you like food writing. Good for discussion.
I found the book so unbelievable that I found it hard to read. Yes, everyone stretches the truth a bit in memoirs and compiles personalities, but this was ridiculous. Rang completely false for me. The rest of our group didn't feel so strongly about it, however.
My book club read this one and I really enjoyed it. I liked how it made you think about the person you are and the people that you could be. I thought the recipes were a nice touch added into the book.
this is a fascinating look at the world of top restaurants and food critics in NYC but it is so much more! As Ruth dons her disguises she finds she becomes the character and it proves to be incredibly insightful. This book made me want to go to New York and find that fabulous sushi place!
